Introduction:

Abdulahi Jama Primary and Secondary School is dedicated to providing quality education and fostering a conducive learning environment in Damala-Hagare, Sanaag. We are seeking a committed Upper Primary Maths Teacher who is passionate about mathematics education and nurturing young minds to join our team.

Responsibilities:

v Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver comprehensive, engaging, and effective mathematics lessons for upper primary students that align with the school’s curriculum and educational goals.

v Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess students’ understanding and progress in mathematics through various assessment methods and provide constructive feedback to students, parents, and school administration.

v Differentiated Instruction: Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students have equitable opportunities to succeed in mathematics.

v Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes learning, respect, and cooperation among students.

v Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues and participate actively in departmental meetings and school-wide initiatives to enhance the overall educational experience of students.

v Extracurricular Activities: Engage students in extracurricular activities related to mathematics to stimulate interest and reinforce learning outside the classroom.

v Professional Development: Stay updated with advancements in mathematics education, participate in professional development opportunities, and continuously improve teaching practices.

Qualifications:

Ø  Secondary Certification, Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.

Ø  Teaching certification/license.

Ø   Proven experience as a Mathematics teacher, particularly in upper primary grades, with a successful track record of improving student achievement.

Ø  Strong knowledge of current educational trends, techniques, and pedagogies in mathematics.

Ø  Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Skills:

§  Strong knowledge of Mathematics subject matter.

§  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

§  Ability to create an engaging and supportive learning environment.

§  Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools.

§   Strong organizational and time management skills.
